Neilly Group (NG) were engaged by Greening Australia, to undertake design of remediation measures for two discrete gully complexes as well as a discrete alluvial gully on Footes Hill Station, near Ayr.
NG undertook both concept and detailed design for the three gully complexes. The works designed included, exclusion fencing, rock chutes and associated overland flow diversion bunds, headcut reshaping, rock check dams and alluvial gully reshaping.
The works were funded under the Australian Government’s Reef Trust IV funding programme. Construction of these gully remediation measures has the potential to save approximately 1,810 t/yr of sediment from being transported to the coast.
