Neilly Group (NG) undertook streambank remediation design and construction of a site on the Daintree River as part of the DRFA project. The eroded vertical bank was approximately 6m high over a bank length of approximately 500m. Remediation of this site included bank battering of the eroded bank to a stable batter; installation of rock toe protection to a height of 1.5m and revegetation with 5,000 trees. NG were engaged to manage and undertake the construction as the principal contractor. In this capacity, NG undertook a tender process to select earthworks and revegetation contractors, and with the successful contractors, executed the approved design to completion. The project was delivered on time, on budget and to erosion remediation best practice.
