This project delivered critical infrastructure upgrades along Loxton’s riverfront as part of a resilience program to withstand future high-water events.

Key project elements:

  • Sluice Gates: Replacement of three aging sluice gates at Sophie Edington Drive, Grant Schubert Drive, and Alexander Hill Drive.
  • Bank Stabilisation: 300 m of severely eroded riverbank stabilised with engineered rock protection, ensuring safe boat access and reducing ongoing erosion pressures.
  • Collaborative Delivery: Worked closely with Council to finalise designs, secure development approvals, and maintain strict WHS standards.
  • Environmental Benefits: Reduced sedimentation, improved water quality, protected riparian vegetation, and maintained natural floodplain function.
  • Client Outcomes: Long-term protection of community assets, improved safety for recreational users, reduced repair costs, and delivery on budget and schedule

“Neilly Group’s delivery of the sluice gate replacement and riverfront bank stabilisation has strengthened our community’s resilience to high river events. The works were completed to a high standard and will serve Loxton well into the future.”
