Neilly Group (NG) undertook streambank remediation design and construction of a site on the Stone River as part of the DRFA project. The eroded vertical bank was approximately 4.5 m high over a bank length of 522m. Remediation of this site was required to a bank length of 622 m which included two alignment training pile fields consisting of 18 pile field retards and 650 piles, bank reprofiling, rock beaching and revegetation of the works area. NG were engaged to manage and undertake the construction as the principal contractor, subcontracting Zammit Earthmoving and GM Grader Hire for construction and the Hinchinbrook Shire Council for revegetation. The project was delivered on time, on budget and to erosion remediation best practice.
